- We had our 30-week ultrasound & appointment today. Wee Man Weiseth is awesome. The doctor today said our kid was brilliant, actually. He's in the 60th percentile in weight and length, weighing in this week at 3 lbs, 8 oz. A good, average sized baby. He's also head-down, and his head is very low. All of his weight is resting on my cervix while his feet are in my ribs. I'll go ahead and let you imagine how awesome that feels.
- I'm still getting the chest pains. The excruciating, causing me to writhe & scream in pain, wake up in the middle of the night, forcing doctors to prescribe enough narcotics to tranquilize a horse, sometimes going to the hospital because they start contractions... yep, those chest pains. They are breaking me down physically: I'm unable to get to work on time the next morning, let alone function. They leave me in a haze for the next 24 hours, and I'm physically unable to do much of anything but lay down and sleep it off. They are wearing me down emotionally: I'm losing the joy of being pregnant, the fatigue makes my spirit sink, and I'm sad that I'm not able to really be myself after an episode. It's draining. You can pray for that if you think about it...
- My youngest brother, Ryan, is officially a Portland resident! He got a scholarship to attend PNCA, a prestigious & competitive art school here in the city to study photography. We are SO stoked to have him around.
- I've been reading a LOT lately. If you have any recommendations, I'll take them. The next one on my list is An Altar in the World by Barbara Brown Taylor.
- We also bought our first big baby item: the infant car seat. Just in case the little dude comes early, we figured it might be wise to have a way to get him home from the hospital. He might come home naked with no clothes, but dammit, he'll be safe in that car seat.
- Imogen Heap's new album, "Ellipse" is freaking brilliant. Go buy it now. Seriously. It'll change your week, maybe even your month. Even if it doesn't change much in your life, you'll enjoy it. I promise.
