"Six inches? That's all?" is what you're probably asking. Yes, only 6 inches. But this town is much like my old stomping grounds of Raleigh, North Carolina. Portland just does not have the means to take care of such a thing as snow. I think there are about 3 plows for the whole city (at least it seems that way), and everything here turns to straight up ice eventually.
The kids here have been out of school all week, services at church have been canceled and you can't find any bread, milk or eggs at any grocery store. People's lives come to a complete stop when this weather hits. It's really very strange.
We, however, have been LOVING this weather! We've taken the Subaru out for some donuts in snowy parking lots, took the dogs for a walk and let them run in the snow and had an EPIC day of skiing powder up at Mt. Hood Meadows. Flights out of PDX have been canceled today, so we're hoping that resolves itself before we take off for Austin, TX on Tuesday.
Hope you're all enjoying winter weather wherever you are!
Me walking Ranger. Yes, he's wearing shoes. His feet aren't used to the snow like Shasta's.

So much fun! We took our pups, err, kids out in the snow a couple of times. They love it for about 20 minutes, then it's time to go back in for hot cocoa. ;)
Westside has about 10 inches or more and it's coming down again!!! Brrr!
Hope you can make it out to TX on time!
Merry Christmas!!!!
